The TotSpot team

Product Guy: Michael Broukhim

Michael Broukhim is responsible for making TotSpot into the best place to build a beautiful online scrapbook and social network profile for your kids. Michael graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College where he served as the Editorial Chair for the The Harvard Crimson. There, he earned a National Pacemaker Award for his writing and spearheaded a nationwide "Wikitorial," written and published collaboratively by 23 college editorial boards and republished by the Los Angeles Times.

Content Gal: Kelcey Kintner

Kelcey does so much and is so hip that it's hard to keep up. Kelcey is a former White House staffer and television anchor/reporter, is the creator and author of the mama bird diaries, a smart, clever and always unpredictable take on motherhood. She is also a contributor for the entertaining site, Notes on a Party. Kelcey graduated cum laude from Tulane University and earned a masters from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. This urban mama has two young daughters and tries to suppress their endless zest for complete chaos, while finding time for her husband, Rick Folbaum (a Fox anchor) and ashtanga yoga. Kelcey believes you can still look hip while pushing a double stroller and drinking from your toddler’s sippy cup. Or at least that’s what she tells herself. Kelcey uses TotSpot as a digital scrapbook for her kids.

Marketing Gal: Janice Chavkin

Janice is responsible for promoting TotSpot off-line. Janice has been spent the past seven years working with the baby and child industry. Janice worked as a top sales woman at Viacord, a stem cell collection company, and then she switched roles into marketing. After having her first daughter she started working for Big City Moms, the largest moms program in NYC. Janice originally started the concept of the expecting mom’s diners when she was an employee of Viacord, it was a great way to get in front of a large group of mothers-to-be at one time. One of Janice’s roles at Big City Moms was heading up the luncheons for new mommies and their babies. Janice also is the owner of Janice’s Invites where she sells a wide range of invitations and does calligraphy on-line. Instead of doing a babybook, Janice uses TotSpot to catalog memories of her two daughters, Jocelyn and Samantha. Janice holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from Towson University.

Smart Guy: Fred Oliveira

Fred ideates and creates. He's not just a developer, he's a guru (you can see for yourself at Fred's Blog). Fred is the founder of Webreakstuff a darn good design and development shop. He's on the board of so many companies that he's lost count, is a founding member of the Web 2.0 Workgroup, has an M.Sc. in Computer Science, and was a Google Summer of Code 2005 alumni. He's our thought leader as we explore social publishing and networking, digital scrapbooks, and collaborative babybooks. Every once in awhile, he's also a nice guy.

Random Guy: Adam Katz

We're still not sure what Adam does, but every now and then he has a good idea. In 1998, he started his first Internet business, launching IPOIsland.com (at the start of the IPO bubble), a site devoted to researching and analyzing the IPO market. At its peak, the company’s website, ipoisland.com, drew between 450,000 and 550,000 monthly visitors and 7,000 paying newsletter subscribers. He later started uTelevise.com - a YouTube clone, before YouTube, but also before broadband :( - and CampusTap - a campus blogging platform. To this day, Adam still has the babybook his parents made for him. Adam graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College.

Precocious Guy: Alex Sloane

Alex is a senior at Harvard College but he’s so special that we grabbed him before he graduated. At university, he studies Government and Economics and was briefly the worst member of the Harvard Squash team. At TotSpot, he helps craft our marketing strategy, fine-tune the financial model, and keep everyone sane. He's a bit of a social butterfly and loves to share photos and videos with friends and family.

Mr. Robotnik: Ryan Orley

Ryan is a junior at Harvard College. He spends his free time building robots and doing stuff we can’t really understand. He also works at TotSpot. Ryan helps develop the site’s infrastructure, maintain the site’s technical quality, and improve ad operations. Like Adam, Ryan still keeps the scrapbook his parents once made for him. Prior to working at TotSpot, he spent summers at MIT doing smart people things.
