Hey! I'm Kimberly. I'm a first time mom... but it's a little different with me...
I just got married in May and became a mommy to a 5 yr old. And I just had my first infant in October. So I'm doing a lot of firsts all at the same time... lol My son is Christopher and my daughter is Phoenyx. Phoenyx seems to be excited to be here, while her brother, on the otherhand, is fervently praying for a baby brother.
First time parent here. We have a one week old boy. He's fantastic!
Hey ya'll, I'm Amber. I'm 22 and I gave birth to our baby girl December 2nd, 08. I became a wife and mother all in the same year. The love between a parent and child is definitely like no other, it is so amazing! I honestly didn't know it was possible to love this much. She's 5 months and 3 weeks today. When she was first born she had colic for the first month and now she just keeps getting bigger and happier. I love photography, scrapbooking, and talking with other parents about how wonderful our babies/kids are. I love taking my daughter to the park and playing in the pool. My world pretty much surrounds around her. Anyways I hope to learn more about being a parent and hear about what I have to look forward to.
Hi everybody! So, what are a few things you definitely couldn't do without... in regards to baby items? I'd like to know if there's anything I missing out on! ;-)
My baby is only 3.5 months, so I'm sure my list will change as she gets older, but so far mine are:
1. Fisher Price Nature's Touch Swing
2. Fisher Price Precious Planet Jumperoo
3. Aden and Anais Swaddle Blankets - big enough and stretchy enough for the perfect swaddle!
4. Dr. Harvey Karp's books and DVD - Happiest Baby on the Block - was a lifesaver for the first two months!
5. Boppy - don't use it so much anymore, but I could not have breastfed without it!
6. Northern Essence Diaper Salve - clears up redness in one application (and we use cloth diapers, so other diaper rash creams are a no-no)
My son is 1 now, but from the time he could hold his head up until he was about 20 pounds, the Exersaucer was the greatest thing ever!
I second Jesse, the ITZBEEN is hands-down the most important baby item we used & it's what we now give all new mom baby showers!
My son LOVED his exersaucer. I think that kept him entertained for hours sometimes!! He would laugh and giggle.....so cute!

hi, i'm tina... FTM to one little girl, four and 1/2 month old abby.
as you can see, i've not quite gotten the hang of totspot. lol
So what is everyone's thought on telling friends and family the name of the child. We told them the sex as soon as we found out, but we have decided to keep the name a secret until the day arrives. Our reasons are twofold, one so it's a surprise and two because we don't want opinions to sway us!
The pressure to tell the name is constant though!
Hi. We held out and didn't tell anyone. The main reason.....we didn't care to hear other people's opinions or comments. Plus, what if we wanted to change it at the last minute. We basically waited until we met "her" to decide if the name we picked out fit. Good luck with your "secret." I think you will find it to be a nice surprise for everyone!
We told our families that we were trying a few names out, but secretly we had already selected one of the names. We just wanted their feedback without having them focus all their attention on our favorite choice. Luckily they loved the name we'd chosen the best! Good luck!
When I find out I was havin a boy...I told everybody was I was naming him
Jennifer, 3 months ago
My fiance has a son who will turn 4 this July. Although it's not official until we're married, I've taken on the role of stepmom since he was 22 1/2 months old, or just under 2 years. We also just had our first baby together last June 1st. He's now 10 months old. I love both boys sooo much. It's been quite the life-changing 2 years for me so I can totally relate to your story. :-)
